Fuuuuck, that intro. I was lucky enough to witness this one (a lot of my most memorable gigs have happened in Whelans, intriguingly). Listened to EW albums on loop for weeks afterwards.

While you’re realising that you forgot to change the clocks last night, bear these bits of weirdness in mind.

Calcutta time was set at 5 hours, 30 minutes, and 21 seconds in advance of GMT.
The other timezone in British India was Bombay time, set at 4 hours and 51 minutes ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
Until 1916, Ireland ran on Dublin Mean Time, GMT minus 25 minutes.

This is perhaps the most depressing page on Delicious. If only the majority of these people were actually inspired by any of this. “inspiration” weeps, hidden in the shadow of the incredible abuse the “design” tag is subject to.

It almost seems like some kind of desperate attempt at self-conviction, saying that “inspiration” is a synonym for something more productive, rather than one for “good” with vague hints of “oh god I’ve wasted the whole morning looking at some douche’s Top 10 Photoshop Gradients”.
